Asmara Children's Center in Tanzania

The Asmara Children’s Center (ACC) was founded through a local initiative in Arusha, Tanzania. The main initiator, Emmanuely Nicholas Meja, grew up in a Maasai village near Arusha and has first-hand experience with the challenges faced by the local population. Over many years, he has been instrumental in building the ACC. The primary goal of the ACC is to provide children from disadvantaged backgrounds with better access to education, giving them a chance to build a future. This initiative aims not only to sustainably improve the individual prospects of these children but also to contribute to breaking generational barriers and supporting families in escaping the cycle of poverty. The ACC is a recognized school that enables children to complete their first years of schooling. In addition to education, the children receive warm meals and a safe home, especially if this cannot be provided in their family environment.

Another key focus of the ACC is supporting children in continuing their education beyond the first years at the center. In Tanzania, attending a high-quality school often requires financial investments, such as for school uniforms. The ACC helps children find sponsors who can support them in their further education. In this spirit, we are also seeking sponsors on behalf of the children. If you are interested in sponsoring a child and supporting their educational journey or if you would like to learn more about sponsorship opportunities, we would be delighted to hear from you.
